We report on the people, the practices, and the ideas of the current spiritual renaissance; We offer self-tests, guidance on spiritual practices; reviews of the latest resources for people on spiritual journeys; inspiration and insights from leading teachers, researchers, and practitioners; and a forum for the active exchange of ideas among various disciplines and communities.
This website and our bi-monthly print magazine are published by Spirituality & Health Media, LLC based in Traverse City, Michigan. We are open to all points of view on spiritual questions, drawing on the world's wisdom traditions as well as science, psychology, sociology and medicine.

Victoria Champagne-Sutherland, Publisher
Victoria joined the staff of Spirituality & Health as publisher in September, 2007. She is also the founder and publisher of ForeWord Reviews, a book industry review journal known for its award-winning content among publishing professionals worldwide. Throughout her career, which includes 20 years of magazine publishing for consumer and business-to-business periodicals, Victoria has concentrated on building communities through an advocacy/service approach and specializes in research biz development and marketing strategy, organizational reviews and assessments, and implementation of digital content delivery. She holds an M.S.A. from Central Michigan University, thesis pending; a B. A. in Communications Arts & Sciences, Michigan State University and many professional certifications including Stanford University and New York University. In addition, Victoria is particularly active in local literacy efforts. She founded and chairs Traverse City READS, a One book/One community reading initiative; served as Literacy Chair, Zonta International and was past president of the MSU Alumni Association.
Stephen Kiesling: Editor-In-Chief
Stephen Kiesling was raised Catholic but left the church and became an oarsman. He began studying embodied spirituality as a Scholar of the House in philosophy at Yale, where he wrote the acclaimed book The Shell Game: Reflections on Rowing and the Pursuit of Excellence while training for the 1980 Olympic Rowing Team. He was a founding editor of American Health, which won the General Excellence Award from the American Society of Magazine Editors in 1985. At the same time, he was a spokesman for Nike and co-wrote Nike's Cross Training System. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Outside, and Sports Illustrated. He was the founder of the Ashland (Oregon) High School Crew and the Ashland Rowing Club. He currently lives on the Rogue River in Gold Hill, Oregon, where he is building a world-class whitewater kayak course. He is an experienced coach, speaker and workshop leader. He has been a guest on Today, All Things Considered and many other television and radio shows. In September 2006, he won three gold medals in the FISA Masters World Rowing Championships.
