SOUL + BODY: Alternative Practices
If you're thinking about a career in alternative medicine, or if you're already practicing allopathic medicine, there are two books coming out in September that may prove useful:
Educational Opportunities in Integrative Medicine: The A to Z Healing Arts Guide and Professional Resource Directory by Douglas "Las" Wengell, MBA, with Nathan Gabriel, N.D. (The Hunter Press, September 2008, KnowYourSource.com), covers the histories and how-to's of nine licensed and 40 nondegree-required therapies and gives information ranging from where to train to earning potential to lists of professional resources.
Medicine, Religion, and Health: Where Science and Spirituality Meet by Harold G. Koenig, M.D. (Templeton Foundation Press, September 2008, TempletonPress.org) focuses on the scientific basis for integrating spirituality into medicine and is the first in the new Templeton Science and Religion book series.
